Since 1972, Sunlight Ski Team has offered quality ski race programs for kids from ages 7 through 17, from beginning racer to future US Ski Team or collegiate racer. With great past and present success in producing high level athletes in the Rocky Mountain/Central Division and beyond, Sunlight remains a participation-based team with an emphasis on learning, improving, and enjoying a lifetime of skiing and sport over pure race results.
The Youth Ski League (YSL) team is designed for the racer who wants more coaching and contact days than the traditional Buddy Werner program, yet isn’t ready to commit to the full Ski Team program. Skiers aged 8 to 16 years meet with ski team coaches all day on Saturdays and Sunday mornings, or will race in several away USSA YSL races on Sundays. Skiers are instructed in athletic, physical, tactical, and mental aspects of ski racing and team participation with an emphasis on learning slalom, giant slalom, and SkillsQuest.
Schedule permitting, YSL may also elect to enter Roaring Fork Valley Series races (with Aspen and Powderhorn).
Begins Saturday, December 31 through Sunday, March 19 at the YSL Finals in Eldora.
YSL and Part-Time racers may add Winter Break Camp for an additional fee. May add Big Wednesday after school program for an additional fee.
Requires work deposit.
