Leigh Sheldrake

Leigh raced up to the NorAm level and has coached all levels of ski racing, from Youth Ski League up to World Championship-level athletes. Competing in the Waterski World Cup he gained valuable knowledge in training/recovery and mental aspects of the sport.
Leigh is Level 1 certified with US Ski and Snowboard;  holds  CPR/first aid;  SafeSport;   Race Referee qualifications, and was the Chief of Course for the 1996 Breckenridge World Cup.

Shannon Francis-Pienaar
Buddy Werner Director

Shannon Francis-Pienaar is a native of the Roaring Fork Valley, growing up in Aspen.  She competed in ski racing during her youth, later to become a professional Boardercross and Skiercross athlete, competing in qualifiers for the X-Games.  Shannon also taught skiing for the Aspen Skiing Company for 10 years before relocating to Glenwood Springs in 2006.  Shannon began working with the SWSC when her son, Garret, started the Buddy Werner program in 2012.

Chris Potvin
Age Class
Chris was born and raised in Aspen and started out as a junior ski racer with the Aspen Ski Club. Over the years, he progressed to spend two years on the US Ski Team specializing in slalom, before proceeding on to race NCSA for CMC and NCAA for the University of Denver. 
Chris has been involved with the Sunlight Winter Sports Club and Buddy Werner programs since the 2015-2016 season.
